Pedestrian Injury Results in Recovery for Client (Rando v Grove)

Anna Rando is an elderly woman who lives in El Dorado, Kansas. She was crossing the street when she was struck by the defendant who pulled out from a T-Intersection and struck her when she was less than 18 inches from the curb. Anna had severe injuries and spent time in the hospital.

American Family denied the claim alleging that the pedestrian was at least as much at fault and the driver of the car. Ryan Hodge ignored the insurance company opinion and flled suit. Experts were gathered including an accident reconstructionst that was able to show that the driver should have had a clear view of Anna and that because the driver was pulling out of a T intersection behind Anna she would have had no way to see him. The accident reconstructionist was also able to establish that the driver made an illegal turn into the outside lane and that if he would have made a legal turn into the inside lane he never would have struck Anna. The case recently settled.
