Kansas Infrastructure Rated a C Minus

Posted on August 24th, 2013

When Wichita citizens get in their car to head to work in the morning, most don’t think about how safe an overpass or bridge is when they drive across. Parents assume that the school they drop their children off at is not dangerous since schools are dedicated to protecting students. However, civil engineers that evaluated infrastructures across Kansas have given Kansas a C minus.

The evaluation included all infrastructures across the state including the state’s airport’s, bridges, dams, drinking water, energy, levees, railroads, roads and schools. Most of Kansas’s bridges and dams received the lowest score, averaging a shocking D minus.

Sometimes a road design or defect will lead to a serious accident. When this happens, you may be able to seek liability from those responsible for a road defect. These defects include road design flaws, signage and signal defects or maintenance defects and hazards.

If you have been involved in a car wreck where you believe the hazardous conditions contributed to your accident, a skilled personal injury attorney can help prove your case.
